[osol-help] Can't install - X does not start

I'm trying to install opensolaris on my computer, with pretty poor results.  
The install cd boots into a console, and never starts the window manager.  I 
have tried logging in as "jack", but typing in "startx" or "gdm" gives no 
results.  I'd really like to give opensolaris a try on my PC, so does anyone 
have any ideas on how to fix this and get it installed?  I'm running crossfired 
ati 3870s, in case you need to know. Thanks in advance.
