What level of postgresql is OpenSolaris expecting when building? e.g. in $SRC/lib/mms/pg it expects to find headers in /usr/include/pgsql. postgresql-8.3 puts its header files in /usr/include/postgresql and does not have the macro VARATT_SIZEP() that the source files in mms/pg expect.
