The problem with the missing shutdown button has been discussed elsewhere - apparently some racing condition during startup; for now if you get it, use 'pfexec init 5'. I've had a bit of a trouble with networking, but most of the time NWAM just work for me, YMMV of course. The U thing is well and good, I just upgraded a VM from 8.04 to 8.10 without problems, but I wouldn''t give up on ZFS, DTrace, Live Upgrades etc. I've never had any problems with X - I am running various versions of Solaris 1[01] on some five physical and 10 VMs (VMware and VirtualBox).
My wireless network is open, so I am yet to try WPA on Solaris, though. I've had enough problems with it under NetBSD to bother... Cheers, Chavdar Ivanov -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
