Installed 2008.11 RC 1 and have no sound when connected via HDMI to a Sony TV
as a monitor and speakers. The HDMI comes out of an 8600GTS graphics card with
sound jumper from ALC889a sound chip on a Gigabyte motherboard. The driver
shows as installed for the 8600GTS as well as the sound. Sound works fine if I
connect to the TV with VGA and speaker connector. I prefer HDMI as this gives
me higher resolution on the monitor. So I am searching for ideas as to what to
do. This same configuration works fine with XP and Vista, but not Linux or
Opensolaris.
