I was using OS2008.05 on my work machine. In the package manager, I tried doing
an Update All. This pulled down 3 gigs worth of stuff, but it froze after
installing the updates (on SlimCD). The machine would not log out, the package
manager was frozen, but the machine worked OK. I had to power it down before I
left, but I was worried. I had to go to a root console and Reboot. It said
something about updating the file structure, and that was the last I saw of the
machine.

Now, it's kernel panicing on boot, and failing. I get this message a number of
times:

panic[cpu0]/thread=fec1e360: mutex_enter: bad mutex, lp=38 owner=f000ef50
thread=fec1e360 dump aborted.

How can I recover the machine?
