if you install solaris or linux my experience is that it installs grub as the
boot loader. When grub is installed it detects which os's are installed on the
partitions of the hard drives in the machine. I have all 3 installed and mostly
use opensolaris. When grub comes up there is options for booting windows,
linux, and opensolaris the default is in the /boot/grub/menu.lst file. I
installed solaris last and use it to edit the boot menu. beadm list will show
you the options and the number associated with it. In menu.lst you scroll down
to where it has the timeout in seconds and the default option should be 0. if
you look at the list of os's below that you can count starting 0 1 2 3 etc...
and put the number of which ever one you want to install.
