I recently received a free SparcClassic complete with keyboard & monitor.
I know this box is pretty simple by today's standards, but I'd like to experiment with it. It has ROM Rev 2.12 and 48 MB RAM. It has SunOS 5.7 (is this Solaris 7 11/1998 ?) Generic_106541-17 Unix System V Release 4.0 It will boot up to a login prompt, but I'm stuck there, as I don't know the password I guess I'll have to re-install the current OS or a newer one and set my own password. My questions are: Can I install the current release of OpenSolaris on this machine? Will it run on this machine?
