I recently installed OpenSolaris on my Dell Inspiron 1526 laptop from a 2008.05 disk. Last night I was able to get it to update and now I'm having problems shutting my machine down. Regardless of whether I go to System > Shut Down from the menu or if I use the "shutdown" command from a Terminal, the system will never completely shut down.
Instead of powering off entirely, the monitor will stay on, just displaying a black screen. Likewise, the power LED on my laptop remains lit. Even after 15 minutes, the conditions remain the same. I eventually have to hold in the power button for a few seconds to completely shut everything off. Does anyone have an idea of what the problem might be? I didn't have much luck searching Google.
