Give OpenSolaris a try, but be aware hardware support is better by an order of 
magnitude in the pre-release versions of 2008.11 than in 2008.05. You might 
want to download 2008.11 RC2 and give it a try rather than the original live CD 
from last spring. You can pre-order a 2008.11 CD at opensolaris.com and its 
free.
