2 things:

1. There is no "Solaris 10 live CD". You either have Solaris 10, which does not
have a live CD, or you have OpenSolaris. The two are different. Please see
http://sites.google.com/site/solarium/distributions for more details.
2. CDE is included in Solaris 10 - and is available as an option. It is not
included in OpenSolaris for various reasons - the most obvious being it has
been EOLed (End Of Life-ed) which means it is no longer to be used and users
should use something else - i.e. Gnome. There is therefore little point adding
it to OpenSolaris.

If you want to try Solaris 10 on your Mac Book, first run the Sun Device
Detection Tool on it to check that all of your hardware is supported. You can
access this here: http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/hcl/hcts/device_detect.jsp . If
this reveals all is OK (and I would be surprised if this was the case) then
download Solaris 10 from sun.com and install it. An easier way to try Solaris
10 would be to install it into a virtual machine using something like VMware or
Vritualbox (www.virtualbox.org).

Cheers

Andrew.
