I just installed 200811. I am using the entire disk for OpenSolaris; there are no other partitions. (The disk previously had Linux installed on it.) There were no reported errors during the install.
Now, when I try to boot, I get only a grub prompt (i.e. "grub>"). There was no mention of grub during the installation. I had the same experience a few weeks ago when I tried to install a pre-release version of 200811. About six months ago, I installed 200805 (on a different computer) and did not have this problem. What's going on here? It looks like the 200811 installer did not put a new copy of grub on the MBR, or at least did not set it up properly. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
