Hi Guys, Reposting my question that I sort of solved hoping someone here might know?
Basically I cant get OpenSolaris snv_103 to see my 1TB disks. Drive types unknown. But I have found another way to get them working. Answer : Run OpenSolaris 0811. which is snv_101. I have just been able to see 2 of the 1TB disks using on the onbaord Intel controllers. I created a test zfs pool and that was fine and disk space came to 1.8T. Question : Why does Solaris Express snv_103 not see the disks? What is different here and does anyone know how to resolve this. Is there a package/patch missing in Solaris Expres 103? The HCL does not say much on compatitblity. Unfortunately the 1TB disks now on my Silicon Image add in card are showing up as unknown. This is progress though as I had to flash the bios with the non raid bios fo any disks to show up. Something to do with how the cards respond solaris is not right on the raid bioses. If I can get the drives onthe Silicon Image 3114 also recognised under OpenSolaris 0811, I be installing that asap and not loking back at Linux. Although I have no problem with Linux ZFS is what I want. Am I in the wrong section for all this? All help much appreciated. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
