Umm, how large is the FAT disk ? I assume it's FAT32 and you're aware that FAT32 doesn't support files larger than 2 Gb (4 on some OSes).
Since you have a Mac at disposal, may be you can just use ZFS on the disk, right ? -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
