HI!

I'm trying to install OpenSolaris 2008.{05,11,Express CE snv_103} on my HP
tx2650er notebook, so my BIOS hasn't any HDD settings like RAID or IDE modes.

Device Detection Tool reports:

(Solaris Bundled Driver) pci-ide Storage ATI Technologies Inc
SB700/SB800 IDE Controller
(Solaris Bundled Driver) ahci Storage ATI Technologies Inc SB700/SB800
SATA Controller [AHCI mode]

HDD is FUJITSU MHZ2320BH G2 ATA.

On booting from Live CD image or already installed OS i'm getting following
error:

WARNING: ahci(0): ahci port 1 has task file error
WARNING: ahci(0): ahci port 1 is trying to do error recovery
WARNING: ahci(0): Internal Error (E)

When I boot installed OS it only hangs up on the error and can't continue to
boot. However on booting from CD I also got:

WARNING: /pci at 0,0/pci103c,30f1 at 11:
SATA device at port 1 - defaukt device features could not be set. Device may
not operate as expected.

... and loading process continued. Moreover, I successfully installed
OpenSolaris.

All devices in my 'scanpci -v' are 'Unknown', but it contains information about
my AHCI Controller:

pci bus 0x0000 cardnum 0x11 function 0x00: vendor 0x1002 device 0x4391
 Device unknown
 CardVendor 0x103c card 0x30f1
 STATUS 0x0230 COMMAND 0x0147

I found following bug report :

http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/show_bug.cgi?id=5504 . However, OpenSolaris
installer which also works under

When I boot WITHOUT CDROM (I found that it also uses AHCI) everything is fine.
It seems that CDROM conflicts with HDD (sorry, I'm not a drivers geek)... How
can I resolve it ?

Thank you in advance!
