Working now - not sure quite what the problem was but posting this in case anyone else interested in getting this going.
I changed the device in Grip's config to /dev/rdsk/c3t0d0s2 (obviously this will vary) and it works without problem. The access permission errors have disappeared (for other applications too). I have no idea why, or why they were there in the first place, I haven't changed anything! (I also realised audio CDs not mounted so no point looking for mount point; it was very late at night when I was doing that.) Anyway, I'm using: - gtkpod (from blastwave repository) - easytag (also from blastwave repository) - grip (from pending repository) and I can use my ipod using opensolaris with no need to resort to itunes. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
