Hello Forum.
In 2007 I managed to install OpenSolaris nv_72 on a pc (msi mainboard, Quadro
FX 540, amd dual core 6000+, 8g ram, 2 seagate cheetah, 1 ide, 1 western
digital sata disk drive, 1 sata dvd) by installing to the ide drive while the
sata disk was physically unconnected and moving the slices to the sata disk
after the install was completed. The scsi disks are zfs mirrored for the user
data (for the scsi to work - adaptec controller - I had to use the adpu driver
from Solaris10 - the OpenSolaris driver hang every minute for a few minutes).
The os resides on the sata disk. Now I tried to live upgrade to the latest
version (nv_104b). First the upgrade failed (cant remember the messages -
somewhat with grub) and I upgraded to version nv_79 which worked fine but the
sata dvd was not visible after upgrade. I decided to buy two additional hd's
(western digital) for further upgrading without destroying old data - added
these disks to the system and they were accessible. Then I live upgraded from
nv_79 to nv_104 onto one of the new disks which worked fine. But there are only
the sata disks visible which are connected to the same sata port as the boot
disk is conncted to - which means I'm unable to move to zfs boot and can not
use the dvd drive. cfgadm is not willing to configure the devices.

Is there any possibility to manually configure the devices - or do I missing
some basics?

Thank you

sata0/0 is the dvd drive
sata2/0 is a similar drive as on sata1/1
When I physically move the disk from sata1/1 to sata0/1 I can also boot and the
dvd drive is accessible but the disks connected to sata1 and sata2 are not
visible anymore
