I'm guessing that you're hitting: 6764193 Broken symlinks on cross platform zfs send/recv http://bugs.opensolaris.org/view_bug.do?bug_id=6764193 Looks like its fixed in a recent Nevada release. Since you're on Solaris 10, I'd watch this bug for patch activity.
