sorry guys, here is my situation in more details: I have Ubuntu 8.10 (ext3 partition) and Vista (two NTFS partitions) installed. what I meant is that the installation of OpenSolaris could see all partitions but after installing I can't see them. after some more googling I figured out that actually OpenSolaris can't handle NTFS or ext3 partitions , but there are some projects to solve that , but not so good. I think it's somewhat OK that OpenSolaris can't handle ext3 because I found that Ubuntu also can't handle OpenSolaris' ZFS filesystem.
I hope that OpenSolaris will be able to read and write to NTFS partitions one day like Ubuntu. Anyway I still haven't tried those projects that may help in handling NTFS. Thanks all for your reply. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
