[osol-help] Adding/removing adding hardware

Yesterday I added a gigabit ethernet adapter to my PC.
When booting OpenSolaris, the OS always selected the wrong ethernet card.
I ended up removing this card. Then it worked until now; I received many errors 
when 
starting 'nwam'. I ended up restarting the OS.
What is actually the correct procedure for OpenSolaris when adding/removing 
hardware?
