I would recommend an earlier thread where some experienced users
answered some of my basic questions about mirror or raidz and how to
proceed with a sensible setup.  When raidz makes sense and much more.

It's kind of a long thread and meanders a bit due to my `sub prime'
skill level.

However, there is a wealth of valuable info throughout the thread. 

And there are several references there, to infomative documents on the
web.

I came away with a much better idea of how to set things up in a
sensible way that would achieve my goals.
