I am really excited to discover OpenSolaris. I have installed 2009.06 on a
MacBook Pro (unibody late 2008) onto VirtualBox 2.2.4. I have been able to get
everything running well except for Glassfish Web Space Server. I have
downloaded the package several times and have installed per installation
directions. I used the IPS to install JDK 1.6 as well at ANT 1.7.1.
I am able to successfully build the web space server packages, but when I go to
use localhost:8080, there is nothing coming in the browser (Firefox 3 bundled
with OpenSolaris). The Glassfish server also does not start at localhost:4848.
I think that the problem may lie in not specifying my JAVA_HOME. As a noob, I
am not sure how to do this in OpenSolaris. could this the be the underlying
problem? My overall goal is to be able to install the web space server along
with glassfish esb in zones and eventually build super-specialized medical
information server for demo purposes. Any help, ideas??
