[osol-help] How to install gcc in opensolaris/video codecs

Hello,
I wanted to develop some programs in opensolaris, however,i wanted to download 
gcc, and install it to help me make some programs. Please dont tell me to use 
sun studio, because i just want GCC's compiler.
Also-
I popped in a DVD, and totem appeared saying that it could not find the codecs 
for the video..any sugestions?
