Keep in mind, those older machines need to support WANboot in the
OBP[2] or they can't be installed using AI.

At the current time, there isn't any SPARC bootable install media for
OpenSolaris.  It's one of the things that we're planning to provide, but
there's no ETA for that work to be done.

That said, workarounds that come to mind are:

a) install OpenSolaris 2009.06 on an existing x86 laptop and use that as
an initial AI install server.
b) install OpenSolaris 2009.06 inside VirtualBox on an existing x86
laptop (if you don't want to plow the laptop's installation) and use
that as an initial AI install server[1].
