Hello,

unfortunately I bought a HP LaserJet P1005 which is a low cost laser printer
that needs it's firmware to be uploaded each time it's switched on (really
weird IMHO ;)). I'd like to operate that device with my OS2009.06 laptop. My
question here is: Is there a daemon/service available that keeps an eye on the
hotpluging events and starts a script in the case an event is fired? Within
that script I'd like to copy the firmware to the USB port and my printer would
be able to put some toner onto the paper.

I found that http://opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?messageID=388540 which
seems to be what is needed but is still in planing?

Any ideas?

cheers, micha
