Ahem,   You have said that  you have an Intel Pro  1000    interface  : 
As it shows up In your  ifconfig -a   list    the interface is clearly   
configured in the kernel.

  The interface   does not have  an address  .    (  inet 0.0.0.0  above ) 
  Have you  connected the NIC  to the network ? 

Now Please :    How did you  plan   to give the  interface  an  address ??

To set up a DHCP server in the  Solaris machine is not going to solve   this 
problem, 
How does  Computers  in your network  receive  IP addresses  ? 

Are they maually configurred ? 
Is there  a  DCHP   server  in you network  that is assigning addresses to  the 
Network  ? 
Do you automagically  receive  DHCP addresses  from your ISP ?
