I just installed OpenSolaris 2008.05 from a live CD on my laptop (with wi-fi connected to broadband) and I wanted to install additional packages such as openoffice.
pkg install openoffice (as root) fails with python traceback message complaining about a time out. $>pkg install openoffice DOWNLOAD PKGS FILES XFER (MB) openoffice 0/1 56/4220 1.16/420.64pkg: An unexpected error happened during installation: timed out The Boot Environment opensolaris failed to be updated. A snapshot was taken before the failed attempt and is mounted here /tmp/tmpPhB8MX. Use 'beadm activate opensolaris_static:-:2008-06-07-18:37:15 and reboot if you wish to boot to this BE Actually I thought my internet connection was fine since I could browse websites from Firefox. I am using the default nwam provided on CD Any idea why this is happening (not only for openoffice but also for any other packages I have tried so far) Thanks for your help -- Eric Le Goff
