Hmm, this is a problem with reading from the installation media.
Apparently you already tried to re-burn a different CD media.
It's interesting that GRUB is able to load some of the files;
that is, the grub menu.lst file was read ok, and it was able to
read the /platform/i86pc/kernel/amd64/unix file. But the big
/boot/x86.microroot file refuses to load.
What kind of optical device are you using? Is that a P-ATA
optical device? Or S-ATA? Or USB?
Did you try one of your opensolaris 2008.05 CDs in a different
computer? Maybe the CD image that you downloaded is
somehow corrupted?
MD5 checksum for the opensolaris 2008.05 iso is:
% gmd5sum os200805.iso
1ef56fc1d43c630c50e4636de14963eb os200805.iso
OTOH, I found this bug report:
http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/show_bug.cgi?id=1818
The user reported that he had to switch to a different brand of
CD media to get the system booted from the opensolaris installation
CD.
