I posted an "I give up" thread last week but I didn't really give up on
opensolaris. (It reminds me of the fun I had with BeOS in the glory days...) I
finally have wired networking up and running and it seems like a stable
connection. But last night I ran into more weirdness. I ran the Package Manager
and tried to update my system. I also added the blastwave and and sunfreeware
respositories and updated everything. Everything was fine until I rebooted, and
then I had an unbootable system that went into an endless reboot loop until I
powered off with the power button. I saw something about a spa rootpool error
22 but the screen flashed off quickly. I reinstalled and I'm back in business,
but I'm wondering what those updates did. Should I avoid those other
repositories? Anyone have an idea why updating made the system unbootable?
