Instead of copping a 'tude, you could always work on it yourself.
Lots of stuff to do, never enough folks doing it to go around,
and probably reasons for doing stuff in a different order than
you (or any one person) might prefer, that we never hear about.

Not that it might not help (IMO) if bug entries were updated to
say "pending X", where X might be some prerequisite, or might just
be some higher priority (according to the ideas of the folks paying for,
or doing, the work).  Were that more frequently done, perhaps more
of us would recognize that there was reason, and not arbitrariness, behind
frustrating delays.  Not to mention that if bug entries were up-to-date
about stumbling blocks or delays, people might (a) look at the bug database
before asking about a bug whose ID they knew, and (b) be more likely to
recognize opportunities to help fix bugs they were interested in.
