I suggest a two-pronged approach. Solaris 10 or keep existing for Oracle. You won't be getting support from Oracle otherwise.
Move rest of it to either OpenSolaris 0508 or SXCE. They basically bundle everything related to development and deployment out of the box (in case of OS 05/08 - a quick update from repository, no DVD release yet)... with all the bells and whistles & latest goodies and work really well.
