on snv_90, with /usr/sfw/lib added to the link editor config (see crle(1)), it worked for me. But even on a 2x 1.015GHz Sun Blade 2000 (not that lame a beast), any other significant activity would make it glitch the sound. On a slower system, with one single CPU, I could understand that. But various other software can play MP3s without any trouble even on a Sun Blade 100 (1x 500Mhz UltraSPARC IIe), so I don't see any good excuse for such poor performance.
However to be fair, that was with a USB audio device (logitech headphones). With the builtin audio, it was...not quite ok, but better. So maybe the problem is also with the USB drivers (either high overhead, or poor buffering, perhaps). This message posted from opensolaris.org
