Hi all!

I need to perform an upgrade of the running Solaris 10 3/05 on Sun Fire V490
to current version with minimal downtime and save present configuration. I
suppose it can be done with Live Upgrade. First, I wanted to try to
implement such upgrade on my Intel machine. I formatted an additional slice
(s4) for another boot environment and run lucreate command with appropriate
options (lucreate -c solenv1 -m /:/dev/dsk/c0d0s4:ufs -n solenv2) as
documentation says. After a few minutes of working I was unable to do
anything on my system: it seemed to be down. Even a telnet daemon was not
working - I can reach system only by using ssh, but It wasn't useful - mount
point /export/home containing all home directories was not available. Now
the system doesn't loading saying that it "couldn't start init". So, my
system is crashed and all I can do now - is to reinstall it.

Does anybody have some experirence with Live Upgrade and what can I do to
prevent such issuies in future?..
