Chris, I haven't read this thread in its entirety, but if you're not familiar with Sunsolve, perhaps that'd be a nice place to look.
http://sunsolve.sun.com is one of the Support centers of all things Sun. If you go to the 'systems handbook' and select 'desktop/workstations', then select 'Sparcstation 20', You'll get details about this system - note, however, that I don't believe that OpenSolaris would install on such an old system.
