Assuming you don't want to wade through smc initializaton...which I can't help with anyway... :)
Have you been messing with 'hostname' setting? Have no clue what may have caused this condition.....but... "rm -rf .smc.properties" from home directory "rm -rf /var/sadm/smc/*" Is this a good idea/recommendation...Your Mileage May Vary...based on version.... These commands should remove existing references/initialization information for smc...causing smc to re-initialize on the next invocation. Assuming this fixes the problem...Still curious what caused this condition....Is the client expecting a response from a non-existent server reference? The reference may say it's running....but that's not necessarily where it's looking? Also, may not be stopping on "localhost"..sometime this can take up to 5 minutes to respond/refresh...(my observation when smc becomes confused about toolboxes) This message posted from opensolaris.org
