I don't think that the manufacturer would modify my motherboard or replace it with another one to allow me to run Solaris <g>. I will try installing the latest Debian to see if this motherboard is not compatible with all non-Windows systems. The motherboard model is Gigabyte P35-DS3. The only thng that is not clear enough to me is that the conflict happens only after I install the NVIDIA driver for my video card. Does this mean that when the driver is not installed and I'm working in onsole mode, the display controller doesn't use IRQ at all? Why the network and display controllers start to conflict only after I install the driver for the latter? This message posted from opensolaris.org
