OK; Solaris 10 isn't (yet) the same thing as OpenSolaris. Solaris 10
(which is what you have) is upgradable using the usual Solaris methods
of patching, "upgrade installs", and the Sun Update Manager (or whatever
it's called this week).

None of those options apply to "OpenSolaris" (e.e.g, SOlaris Express,
Nextenta, Schillix, etc.), where the only way to update (currently)
is to reinstall. Such is life on the bleeding edge! :-)

Solaris 10 can be updated, but if you'll a SunSolve login to do that
(modulo the infrequent Update releases, which you can just download).
With a SunSolve login you get $0 access to security patches; for access
to all patches you'll need to purchase a support contract.
