Hello list.

I've been a FreeBSD user for some time, and recently decided to
explore the Solaris world. After (painfully) getting my 'bcmndis0'
card to work, I must say, I'm impressed so far.

However, I am a bit confused. One thing I suppose I took for granted
in FreeBSD is the 'standardization' of where things 'should' be. For
instance, I knew anything third-party would be in /usr/local/*, and
all base tools/applications were in /usr/bin /bin, etc.

My question is, is there any documentation on file system
standardization in Solaris/OpenSolaris? For example, if I were to
compile mplayer from source, where *should* I set the --prefix to,
when running `./configure'?

I'm using mplayer as an example in this situation, and if there is
good documentation on this kind of thing, I'd appreciate a push in the
right direction.

Thanks in advance.
