Hi all, I have the same laptop (D630) and I work with mplayer without problems (without OSS).
You only have to run the gui interface of mplayer (gmplayer) -> Preferences -> Audio: And select " Sun Sun audio output". After that, sound work great. I hope this is usefull for you. Regards -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
