i too am having the same problem. my kernel usage spikes after start up and the HD is very active. Could this be a lack of RAM issue?
I usually notice the problem once I start up Net Beans 6.5. I run 2008.11 snv_101b on hp nc6000 with only 512M ram. I will be upgrading the RAM to the 2Gb max in the future, but if a fundamental issue is causing this problem, please let us know. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
