[osol-help] How is locking done in the OpenSolaris kernel?

Sometimes my desktop freezes for one or two seconds. I never have this problems 
in Ubuntu Linux.
Is it possible that the Solaris Kernel uses as locking mechanism to disable and 
enable regulary interrupts?
When an interrupt is disabled, it explains why it freezes.
