Try 'zpool import' when booted from the LiveCD to check for existing
pools. Please post your output.

Also, you can add a flag to the GRUB boot option to make your boot
verbose - this might help diagnose the hang:

Boot to GRUB

'e' for edit on the default boot option.

Assuming you are booting OpenSolaris, replace 'console=graphics' at
the end of the line with '-v'

'enter/return' to apply

'b' to boot

If you get any additional info during boot/hang, please post.

cheers,
Blake
