I think you're right about the CDROM drive. I thought it was a Pioneer, but perhaps the guts are Sony.
The times in the two log files are totally disjoint. Since the two CDROM read errors are far apart in time and space, are retryable warnings, and there is no evidence of hard error, I don't think these are the source of my problem. It's been about 29 hours, so I've aborted it and am starting it again. Wish me luck. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
