That's where I'm at now - it doesn't work? The CPAN stuff I'm installing as follows:
1) Everything via the wiki unti dbd::mysql 2) When it fails, I do a look DBD::mysql and make by hand (and install). 3) exit this and return to CPAN and do the same for GD. 4) Use your code, set symbolic links and run slimrun which fails. 5) If I try and fix it the way it recommends (by calling build-perl-scripts.pl directly), the main difference is the DBD::mysql versions. CPAN tries to install 4.010. Squeezecenter tries 3.0002. I even tried changing build-perl-scripts.pl to point to DBD-mysql-4.010.tar.gz but that doesn't work either. I may just give up on this until someone makes a proper package for OpenSolaris - that or switch to Nexenta (but I don't like the impurity of this). FWIW, using XBMC and the CIFs shares from Solaris for streaming video to my AppleTV doesn't work very successfully (too much video artifacts) but mounting the CIFS share on a Mac and then streaming this to the ATV works great. I might be better off just getting a Mac mini and using it for the video and audio processing and use the Solris box purely for storage... Thanks for all your help BTW - Did you ever try to create an actual pkg install package for OpenSolaris? With your knowledge and some help from some people on this forum, you may be able to pull it off. We need more things to work easily in OpenSolaris or everyone will just turn away and go back to Linux and the new BTRFS which is a rival for ZFS and coming soon...
