I fixed the vmware keyboard problem described in that URL a while ago when I
noticed a problem with other images i was using a few months earlier (I have
a lot of different images so i can test building on various platforms). All
the other operating systems work fine, various Linux's, FreeBSD, NetBSD and
Windows XP, so I doubt the problem is the external keyboard mapping.

I might try and download a pre-built opensolaris image and see how it goes.
