ATA disks stopping and immediately starting up, that
sounds like bug 6622965 "ata_power(PM_LEVEL_D0) stops ata disks,
instead of changing to D0 fully on".

It's more or less harmless - and does not prevent the
system from booting.

What kind of optical drive are you using?  Is that perhaps
a S-ATA optical drive?
