Umm, to Activate DHCP you need to make an empty file named /etc/dhcp.rge0
That activates the dhcp client soliciting for an IP Address. Is this System dual-booted with windows ? Some RealTek chipsets do not get properly reset by a Warm reboot. I have one of these boxes myself with a Realtek 8169 chip.
