The OpenSolaris installer runs in 32 bit mode. After the installation is finished opensolaris runs in 64 bit mode if the computer supports 64 bits.
I assume you are seeing the effects of an addressing problem . Some addressing issues between IO-adreeses and memory addresses and your 4 gb of ram . and the fact that the installer is 32 bit. the problem probably vanishes if you remove RAM from the computer . say run the installer with 2 GB RAM. then as solaris runs 64 bit you can replace the RAM after the install is finished. There is a bug here somewhere, wehter it is in the ML530 BIOS or in Solaris is difficult to know. //Lars This message posted from opensolaris.org
