Hello!
I was wondering how to use Solaris/OpenSolaris with 2 video cards. I have an
integrated Intel 845 graphics card and a NVidia FX 5200 256mb PCI video card.
Both Solaris 10 Express Developer Edition and OpenSolaris 2008.05 refuse to
boot with the NVidia card inserted in the computer. It starts to load, gets to
the point where it says SunOS 5.11 and some copyright information at the top of
the screen, and then the computer hangs (keyboard won't function etc). Even if
the computer is set to use the integrated card, but with the NVidia still
inserted, the computer still hangs. I also have an ATI Radeon 9250 256mb PCI
laying around. I replaced the NVidia with the ATI, and the same thing happens,
except, that the computer doesn't hang if the video card is set to integrated.
Is there a known workaround or plans to fix this in future versions?
Also, thanks for taking the time to read my long post. Thanks for your help.
