I'm afraid I have to disagree with your assessment of opensolaris. The installer is great - a couple of clicks and I had my Windows hard drive partitioned and the OS installed. After trying too many Linuxes to count and always being disappointed, opensolaris is easy to use and works (mostly) on my ThinkPad. Its stable and fast. Kind of reminds me of BeOS back in its heyday. I think Sun did a great job here. This message posted from opensolaris.org
