Hi there, Yea, unfortunately the install is pretty limited in offering partitioning options at install time.
As for mirroring the root volume, you may have found this guide: http://darkstar-solaris.blogspot.com/2008/09/zfs-root-mirror.html If you are only getting a grub> prompt then it is likely not finding the stage 2 on the volume. Can you describe more on how you installed grub on the second drive? Can you specify the Root () boot() and kernel() options in Grub and have it then boot correctly?
